Project Manager
Pleasantville, NY, 2014
The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC), a non-profit education and film presentation center in Westchester NY, commissioned a new platform for the teaching and learning of Visual Literacy. This website was designed and produced by S+7, in collaboration with a small team from JBFC.

The JBFC Education homepage is designed to reach the organization's broad audience of teachers, parents, and both youth and adult students, while communicating the playful and visually-driven power of the JBFC program.
View Now Do Nows are a new feature for the JBFC Education Department. These quick project prompts get visitors into a creative mood with little to no-tech. The website features a new VNDN each week, and highlights submitted responses and a growing archive of projects.
JBFC's Visual Glossary clearly defines key film terminology, and shows how some of the worlds best filmmakers use these techniques and concepts to create iconic imagery, memorable characters, and powerful stories.
Course listings feature sample student-created projects, and are sortable by age and semester. Streamlined registration and payment system, integrating smoothly with the organizations existing membership database.
As featured on the homepage, the Blog highlights news from across the Jacob Burns Film Center campus, with an Education slant.
The platform features a public blog, as well as a private and secure blogging system for each class. Faculty and public school teachers using JBFC curriculum can create their own class blogs, which function as interactive syllabi and archive for each student. Curriculum that includes viewing resources and professional development is also accessed through private sections of the site.
The Learning Framework provides the foundation for JBFC's Education program. This tool allows educators and administrators to easily and graphically comprehend the benchmarks of visual literacy.
